Default needs some advice on next camera

I own the fuji s602z but I'm in the market for a new digi cam. There are two camera's that I'm really interested in. The minolta A1 and the new soon to be released sony dsc-f828. I can't decide over which one I should choose. Both camera have features that I find important. For example the A1 has image stablization but it doesn't have a Af feature. The sony has the Af feature but no imagae stablization. I think for a long telephoto shots, image stablization is really important. (and I don't always have a tripod with me) The shutter speed on the sony is much slower than the A1 but the sony (based on previews) has a shorter lag time than the A1. Sony has that new 4 color ccd system, is 8 megapixel and a whole bunch of ten technology that's unknown at this point and the A1 is only a 5 megapixel camera with standard tech. Should I invest my money into a higher resolution newer tech camera or stick with tried and true?
