First I would like to compliment whomever is running this web site. It is set up very nice..
Now, on to my questions: ![]() I am looking at getting a new digital camera and have been reading a bunch of reviews for the last two weeks. There are soooo many possibilities. So I was wondering if anyone would like to give me his or her recommendation for a decent camera based on the following information. - Around 300-400 dollars (give or take a few bucks) - Minimum 3mp - I would like a camera that takes good inside pictures as well as outside pictures. (From what I have been reading, this seems to be a big issue with a lot of digital camera in this "range". Low light, inside, etc) - Movie mode (with audio would be nice) - Decent battery situation (in utopia land, it would have a rechargeable type cell that could be swapped out with standard batteries in a pinch. But I know this may not be possible.) - Some amount of optical zoom (3x, which appears to be pretty standard) - The more features the better, but at this price I realize I will not get a "super" camera capable of everything. - Other things that are a given; flash, LCD screen, memory card, etc. I left out possible contenders that I have been looking at on purpose. I want your opinion of what you would by if you were spending your cash. Thanks in advance to anyone who offers me some advice. |

I am going to recommend the olympus C4040.
3X optical zoom 4mp f1.8 lens, glass optics, great for low light shots movie with sound auto point and shoot manual settings for finer shooting functions 4 AA batteries or the Olympus CRV3 batteries, I use nimh recharge can fit additional filters and lens via a tube adapter https://www.clickfordigital.com/deta...productid=7108 The above web site has camera for $494. The additional funds above $400 would be well spent. You can veiw my shots with the C4040 at this link www.pbase.com/gibsonpd3620 |
