My finepix s1500 is not being recognised by my laptop I tried fugi for help it just gave me a 1800 number to call and my phone is not working right now.
I am trying to upload pics onto laptop and all I get is a white screen on my camera with 'USB' on top left side. I am running windows 7 the usb port works for other things but is not recognising my camera for some reason i am using the cord as the card itself wont read on my laptop but the cord attachment method was working until just now . Any ideas ? |

When the camera's screen goes white and displays "USB", perhaps the camera is showing up as another volume in your Windows Explorer. Have you seen any difference between the number of drives before the camera is plugged in versus after it's plugged in and the screen displays "USB"?

I wonder if you turn the computer off, then plug in the camera (with the camera on) if that might allow the computer to recognize the device during the boot up?

Can you browse through the photos using the LCD screen on the back of your camera?

If I remember correctly,My old Fuji S5800 showed a white screen whilst downloading images- and all was fine.
When you pop your SD card into the computer direct, does nothing show up in your drives on "My computer"- like a "removable disc" ? If it shows up, you should be able to "send to" "My Documents".... |

No Simon it stopped reading directly from the SD card so I was plugging the cord into the laptop and it was showing that way, now it wont read from the camera either..it has to be a problem with my laptop but other things are working when plugged into the same usb port so i cant figure it out.
I can see the pics from the LCD screen view on the camera so it is taking pics ok and the card is ok.. |

Yes I tried different ports, its my laptop not the camera that is the problem..
I tried it in a friends laptop this evening and it reads the sd card ok and also from the usb cord it reads fine, its just my laptop that isnt recognising it but at least I know now that the camera is working ok . If anyone has any ideas on why my laptop won't recognise it please let me know and thankyou for your suggestions so far ![]() |
