Default Nikon Coolpix 3500

Anybody have any feelings, positive or negative, on purchasing the coolpix 3500 as a first digital camera for a novice who will basically be using it for vacations and recreational use?

Also, any suggestions on what size and brand additional memory card to purchase?

Should make an excellent first camera. If you can budget a 128 CF card you will be able to take 90 to 150 shots based on the fine or normal mode of quality.

If you can afford it spend $200 more and buy at 4500. They sell at Dbuys.com for $504. Not that your selection is bad, just that the
opportunty to move up is there.
