My son has my Oly 490Z and it is over 3 years old. I usually upgrade cameras not because they are broke but I am looking for new features that are on the newer cameras.

Well I think they should last for many years, my Sanyo is 4 years old and still going strong.
I just needed something with better resolution and I guess with time I will be looking for something better than what I just got.

Does anyone know where I can find a refurbished c-2100 with a manufacturer warranty? Also, I was thinking about the c-2500. Is that anygood? Also, does anyone know anything about sharp's VE-CG40U (i.e. does it accept add-on lenses and is it anygood), because at 300 for a 4mp camera, it may be what I am looking for.

Well, I checked on eBay for you, and I didn't see any real deals yesterday. I saw several refurbished units as a "Buy It Now" auction for $369 back in November offered by 520 Camera Corp. in New York. Being cautious, I called the number provided (212)262-5298 and inquired in detail about the camera. The unit had a 90-day Olympus warranty, and I had them physically verify that everything that was included with a new camera was in the box. Everything was there except for a lens cap, so I offered them $360 and they agreed. The camera works fine, and I am satisfied with it. You might give them a call to see if they have any more left. Most of your digicams that soley use the SM are 3 or less megapixel, most of the cams will take a very large number pics on a 128 meg card.

If you ever run into anyone with a Sony 10X optical digicam and a shoe box full of floppy disks that will be a Kodak moment. Kind of makes the 128 SM seem HUGE :shock:
