I'm not sure of the exchange rate, but if $290 Canadian is close to $360 US, I'd strongly consider a refurbished C-2100. It would be hard to beat the features and extras included at that price. And, like the others have recommended, you'll be much happier with AA's rather than proprietary battery packs. You can buy an extra two sets of AA's and charger for $20 -- a spare proprietary battery can run as much as $80 (all USD).

If you can find an Olympus C2100UZ, you would have a very fine
