Default parameters for taking lightning shots....

gud day everone, just wana ask what should be my settings be when planning to take lightning shots. thnx in advance.

The lightning determines its own exposure time. If you have a background like a city you would want the exposure time proper for the city and just keep shooting until you capture the lightning.

It is also dependent on the lightning. A very close and clear lightning bolt will burn itself in at a high f-stop. You get the surrounding small threads and colors better with the lens more open. I would start with f5.6 and 16 seconds if the background is very dark. Or whatever exposure you would need for say a city.
