I am a newbie and need help choosing between these two. I want something small and compact for personal use. The Fuji has only 2mp but a 'CCD sensor' apparently upgrades this to 4mp. It is newer, smaller, cheaper and has a useful looking docking station.
Will I regret not buying the Pentax with it 4mp and other features, if I plump for the Fuji? |

In my view the Pentax Optio 430RS seems to be a better choice due to a few reasons, some of which are cited below;
1. the pixel front; Pentax sports a sensor with 4.13 MP (3.76 effective), whereas Fuji sports it with 2.1 MP (2.1 e). 2. The media used is Compact Flash whereas SmartMedia is used in Fuji. *(CompactFlash is termed better with the read write speeds)* 3. Pentax comes with 11 MB of Internal Memory, Fuji none. 4. Remote control is infrared, in fuji it is wired. to me Pentax 430 RS seems to be a better choice. ajeet |
