I know something's not right if I can't relatively quickly find an answer via a couple of Google searches but,

I want to print some photos using an extra Thumb drive as a storage device. I'll use it to carry the pictures and print them as I need them.

Putting this usb thumb drive into my printer gives the error message that it is not in Pictbridge Format. Extensive and persistent searching for some tool to format the drive in Pictbridge format finds absolutely nothing.

What am I missing? Is there some magic or mechanism that I'm not aware of that's keeping USB Thumb Drives from being formatted as Pictbridge compatible?
