Default Sigma lens hood question

Hi Everyone,

I just picked up a Sigma 28-70mm F2.8-4.0 lens for my Nikon D50 yesterday for an absolute bargain. Anyway, all is well but I need a lens hood. I just ordered a lens hood off ebay which I thought was the right one... but it might be the wrong one!
I got the lens hood for the 28-70mm DG version but mine is a 28-70mm UC version. I didn't read the DG/UC bit... all I remembered was mine was a 28-70mm.
The diameter of my lens is 55mm...
So what I want to know is... did I buy the wrong lens hood? If I did actually waste $20 a few minutes ago... can someone direct me to the correct lens hood for the 28-70mm UC?

Looking at the Sigma UK website the part number for this accessory is 667N28.Try Sigma Australia and it ought to be there. Its not cheap though-here its £20, a lot for a plastic lens hood.

Sigma lens originally came with a bayonet mount lens hood. If you can't find one, your best bet is to find a screw mount lens hood. You have to know the filter size to get the right one.
