a) Please could you help? I am watching the prices of a number of cameras, mainly on pricerunner.com with a view to buying in the New Year.

I am looking at three main possibilities:

1. Kodak DX 4530 5Mp

2. Kodak DX 6440 4Mp - with Schneider lens?

3. Sony cybershot P92 5Mp

The 4530 is the cheapest . The camera shop said that the DX6440 is the best for picture quality because of the superior lens. The internet reviews all sound fairly good.

Could someone advise me on any relevent aspects?


b) Is there anything to watch out for when buying secure digital cards, should I go for the Kodaks? Can they affect picture quality or is the quality just an issue of durability?

c)My 10 year old daughter is showing interest in having a camera herself and has her eye on a polaroid. This is not realistic because the films are £10 each and only have 10 pictures. I thought about getting her a digital camera, as this will give the instant results that she clearly wants. Can anything worthwhile be bought for around £30? Where is the best place to look?

d) I am searching for prices for my camera on pricerunner and ebay. Are there any other sites that would be worth looking at?

Take a look in DYI shops and places that sell stuff to contractors. Something that will stand up to those guys just might stand up to a 10 year old.

Casio 3000. I am as happy with that camera as I would likely to be with any three and a half year old camera.
