Default T3I Help!

When I set the date on my new Canon t3i will it appear on the picture and if it does how do I turn it off so it doesn't show up on the picture? Thank you so much. I am new to this and I just getting back into photography. I have my first grandson to photograph!

The Date and Time are used extensively by the camera, and is stored in the images (not on the images) where it is used by image editting applications and by your computer's operating system. You should definitely set the date and time in youyr camera.

The only time you have the option to print the date on an image is when you choose to print an image directly to a PictBridge printer, but by default, that option is off.

From the Canon T3i Instruction Manual, page 286:
The shooting date and time does not appear in the picture. The date and time is instead recorded in the image data as shooting information.
