Hello all,

I have a Kodak v550, I took pictures off its 32 mg internal memory, and accidentally deleted a video I really wanted....is there any way to recover it or is it doomed forever? I know you can recover stuff off memory cards, but haven't yet heard of anything for internal memory. Help will be appreciated! Thank you!

Um, I have never heard of anyone doing this.

However, if your camera allows you to connect it directly to the computer via a usb cable, and the camera shows in the computer as an external drive, then I suppose you could run any of the normal recovery programs on it.

You could try at least, sincemany recovery programs are free and at worst you have wasted 5 mins.

Thanks for your suggestion!

I gave that a try, but either it's not possible to do it, or I don't know what I'm supposed to look for....Don't mean to sound dumb, but when you mention external drive you mean if something extra pops up under the regular drives(c, d, e...) right?

Oh, and I'm flying into the UK next week...viva England!!

Yep. A camera would usually show up as "Removable Drive (G)" for example, if G is the next available drive letter for your PC.

I don't think you can as camera memory is completely different from your hard drive on your PC.

The thing is with a PC even when you delete files, pictures or whatever it's still on your hard drive. But with a memory card (Internal or External) it only has limited memory and i build PC's and iv'e never heard of anyone extracting lost data from XD Flash or anyother type of card!!!

I'll look into it for you, but i don't think so!!!

Well recovering photos from memory cards is no different to a hard drive, after all the card is formatted , has a File Allocation Table etc

Immediately stop using the Kodak camera, and connect it to computer via usb cable. Once it is recognized, use data recovery software to scan its internal memory and recover deleted videos. Here the video shows how to the recovery step by step: [link to video promoting commercial product removed by moderator]

It's probably a little late for the OP, as this thread was started 8 years ago.
