Of course tripos is a must. Remote shutter is highly recommended, if you don't have it, use the timer.

[align=left]What works for me is using spot metering. Then measure the ligth for the point you want to be well exposed. Of course there will be some points overexposed and some underexposed.[/align]
Then, take at least 3 shoots; 1 with your measurement, one with +2/3 EV and one with -2/3 EV and choose the best.
