Default Coolpix 4300 - Settings?

G'Day,

A friend of mine purchased a coolpix 4300 camera and he is having some trouble getting it to do closeups without being blurry.

What settings on the camera should be set so I can take a picture of a diamond ring and show off the setting as well as the stones like you did with the werthers candy?

Please advise as this is very frustrating. The reason we purchased this camera is because of the sample images provided on this site.

First put the camera in Macro focus mode. Then zoom to the mid-point of the focal range - the white macro flower on the LCD will turn yellow when you find the "sweet spot." The biggest secret to great macro photos is USE A TRIPOD and the camera's self-timer to trip the shutter. You can't have any movement when doing macros or else the photo will be blurred.
