yyes i noticeHello..

I am after some advice please. A friend of mine who lives in the US has a Nikon Coolpix 885. There is a (known?) problem with colour saturation, mainly reds and oranges, which get super saturated. Apparantly Nikon were (are) going to release firmware to approach the problem.

Has any one else met this problem, and if so how was it rectified (if at all).

Thanks

Poul

Nikon lists a Firmware Version 1.2 Update on it's website but doesn't mention your friend's problem. Have your friend check the firmware level as follows:
  1. Switch the camera off.\[/*]
  2. While holding down the Menu button, turn the camera on. Continue holding down the Menu button until the firmware version appears in the monitor. The LCD display will display ‘E885V"*.*"' where "*.*" represents the version number. If it reads "1.1" or earlier, your firmware can be updated.[/*]
http://www.nikonusa.com/ and follow link for Software downloads, search for Coolpix, firmware update, 885

Hi Bob...

Sorry I hadn't responded before. Due to my inability to hit the correct keys I posted this here and on the Nikon Camera section too!! Thanks for the information I will pass it on.

Much appreciated

Poul
