Digital zoom is a mere marketing plo y.... i don't lknow a soul that uses the blasted thing. All it can do is annoy you if you forget to turn it off.

My local camera shop (www.wrexcam.com), whose views I trust, says of the Canon A-300...

"We think the A-300 is very poor value and offers only its smart styling & Canon name & ease of use....but others are much better all round & do have optical zoom lenses."

They like the Sony DCS P-72, (while hating its digital zoom) but that's presumably up-market from the P32. However, it uses Sony memory sticks for storage which are enormously expensive.
