Default Good zoom power for wildlife photography?

I am interested in outdoor photography, and in particular wildlife/bird shots. Could someone advise me on a sensible zoom power please(taking my budget of 600 into consideration).

At that specific budget, the Olympus C750 should be adequate. It features 38-380mm (35mm )equivalent zoom range, and y ou can add an econmical Olympus TCON-17 teleconvertor to it for around 100 more or so to bring up to over 600mm (35mm)equivalent focal length. You wil REQUIRE a very sturdy/rigid tripod for practical use of these focal lengths though. For note, 400mm range is 'usable' for wildlife shots, but for birds, 600mm range is more desirable, as they can be tough to get close too.

Good luck.

I don't know if an EagleEye OpticZoom 5x will fit on that camera, but if it does that is another way to increase your zoom power by a lot. Check out:

I've heard some good things about it.
