Default Cameras for macro work?

I am planning to purchase a camera for macro work, especially extreme close-ups of flowers & insections. My interest is in capturing a small part of a flower (or plant or insect) for unusual effect. I've been using an Olympus C-3020. I'm considering perhaps an Olympus C-5050Z, Nikon Coolpix 4500 or 5400..... Does anyone have any suggestions as to other cameras, or any advice about those I listed? I'm hoping to spend less than $700. I'm really a novice (I think I've just been LUCKY so far because I've gotten some nice photos without really knowing what I'm doing), but want to learn much more, and would like a camera I can grow with.

Thanks for your help.

The Nikon Coolpix cameras are king of the macro world. Not only do they focus close but the swiveling body is great for when you're working on a tripod (definitely recommended) so you can easily see and frame the subject. The Coolpix 4500, 995, 990 are all great.

Thanks, Steve. I appreciate your feedback. I'll check out those cameras.
