Default New or Old???

I can get a new Olympus C-2040 Zoom for $400 (now obsolete) or a Sony DCS-S75 for $475. Which is a better camera for someone that just wants consistently great shots in low light with good recycle times? I will not be doing much at all with manual settings. I have been told that because of the improvements they have made in the last year that even though the 2040 was a very highly rated camera 18 months ago the newer ones for $400-$450 will blow it away in performance and image quality is that true?

newer, better, faster, brighter, cooler. face the fact that what you bought this week is "obsolete" in approx 6 months.

you'll have to chart feature for feature the differences and what you want . if it's the difference of $75 between a 2MP and a 4MP spend the money.
