Default New Digicam/old computer compatabilities

I looking to buy my first digicam. I want it primarily to shoot images of 2D art work to record and send images to clients. I currently have a Mac performa 6300 with 64 MB of ram and running OS 8 and an older version of Photoshop V 4. Any camera recommendations for crisp accurate color reproduction of 2D artwork? And what concerms shold I have in regards to the computer I now have and its compatability? Thanks in advance!

Your current system does not sound like it will meet some of the minimum specs as far as memory, OS, and even processor speed.

It may be time to get a new Mac, but you have to check the requirements on whatever models you look at.

If you can, try calling some camera shops and see if they have loaner digitals you can rent or give a price range for your budget.

I'm partial to Nikon and Canon products in many cases.

Default Test it

Several of the reviewers post or reference full-size images from the cameras they review. Download a couple and see if you can work with them in your Photoshop program.

It's a lot easier to use a card reader than to tether your camera to the computer, so even if the camera's software isn't compatible, you can find a card reader that is compatible and be in business.
