I'm trying to learn how to use the "manual settings" on my camera. The book says that the shutter speeds range from 30 to 1/4000 sec. But when I turn the wheel adjustment, I can go past the 30 down to 3 and then it goes to 0"4 on (down or up)to 30" . What are these numbers after the 3 ? Are they for the bulb setting in seconds instead of fractions of seconds ? Or----

Thanks for any help

Hi donp and welcome to Steve's!

That's pretty easy, once you start seeing 1", 10",30" etc then you are looking at exposure times in seconds.

Hope that helps,

Mark

thanks Mark, I know I'd get an answer from the experts. I'm sure I'll have a few more questions.
