Default Watermarking names on photos

Anyone care to tell me how you 'watermark' or 'emboss' the photographers name on the image?

I have Photoshop but don't really know how to use it. I use IrfanView as my viewer, if that matters.

Thanks!

More :?: sure to come...

Try this link, they have a few different ways of of doing it. I'd try a couple and see which you like best and find easiest.

Try doing a search of "Opacity" in Photoshop's help system, that should put you on track!

I don't have PhotoShop and can't offer any advice on how to do it using that software, but I use picture-shark.

Well...how did you make out Bikerider? Did you get it figured out?
Any follow up questions?

PSP 8.1 supports digital watermarking technology patented by Digimarc. I'm pretty sure that Photoshop [and most recent photo editing products] support Digimarc technology as well.

With PSP 8.1, you select Image > watermarking > embed watermark.

PS must have some equivalent command.

Tried to play around with it the night before last, but didn't get anything to work. Will try again using your tips when I have some free time.. work is keeping me relatively busy right now...

Thanks for the tips!!

Most versions of PhotoShop support the Digimarc process, but you must pay and register and this is really probably not what the original poster wants. Digimarc puts an "invisible" or nearly invisible mark which when "tested" with software like PhotoShop reveals the photo owners name and which ever relevant information the photographer wants.

I suspect that the original poster wanted to produce a visible "name" on the photo with perhaps a copyright sign. The best software I'm aware of to do this with is still "freeware" and was mentioned earlier (PictureShark) which lets the user embed text or images in batch format.

Correct,

I merely want to be able to emboss my photo's with my name and a copywrite symbol. I've seen it done in text format, but I want something a little 'neater' than plain text.

I'll have more time Monday to play around with PS and the features mentioned earlier. I'm supposed to have a root canal done, so I'm sure I'll be home all day afterwards...
