Default Upgrade path from a Kodak dx3700

Just over 18months ago I bought a Kodak dx3700 which although has served me well has a couple of things I'm not 100% happy about (although I bought it during the UK Kodak website cock up for 100 so can't complain). I've been overall happy with the photos and with one of my sisters in Australia I've been regulary taking photos of the kids/events to put ont he net for her (Using my new app http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=15933 and ftp directly to http://matthew.augier.info)

What I would like is another minimum of 3mp camera but also with an optical zoom. Battery life/size/easy of use/easy transferring (Like the kodak transfer utility, even the wife can use it!)/ the abilty to turn on and take shots quickly wihtout having to wait for it (Missed too many shots becasue of that ) and the price to be reasonable.

Thanks for any input...

My sister bought the Kodak DX6490, 4mp, 10X optical zoom and the kodak docking system. The camera takes very good pictures and worked well inside and outside. She does love the ease of transferring photos with the docking station. She also loved the software package that came with the camera. Read Steve's review.

Thanks for the input, the dx6490 looks a bit chunky for casual use - the dx6440 looks nice though...and the LS633!
