Default Optio S4??????

Hi i'm looking for a small digital camera, would this be a good choice, i read the review but not still not sure, as there are bad points such as blurred edges and slow shot to shot time.

I mainly want to use it at night time to take pictures when im out - if im using the flash alot will I not be able to take continuous shots????

I dont really need to use the high res 4mp, i will probz be taking pics at round the 1024x960 size, but the features such as the 60sec recording seem apealing.

Also the LCD is really small, i was wondering if it is practical whilst taking pictures.

Any suggestions and advice please

The corners are a little soft and there is some vignetting at wide angle. But how often is there important detail in the corners. A standard old photographer’s trick was to slightly darken and soften the corners to make a picture look better. It is noticeable if you are looking at the corners for faults but not so much in the pictures.

The Minolta G500 isn’t as compact but still pocketable and has better flash cycle times and much better low light focus. I still has the dinky LCD though. You might look at the Casio Z4 with a big LCD in a very tiny camera: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/ex-z4.html
