Default Need help on picking 1st camera...

I have looked at almost every camera and i still can't narrow it down to a couple. This is going to be my 1st digital camera, so i am looking for something that i can use if i aquire a new hobby. Here are some spec that i am looking for:

At least 3 MP
Movie mode w/ sound
scene modes
price around 300
something not too small (doesn't have to fit in my pocket)
color filters would be nice

Have to say a comment about that last bit, digital cameras use auto white balance, and you'd have to disable that each time you use a colour filter...otherwise the camera will just correct for what it sees. White balance is the method used to correct for different lighting conditions...i.e., if you put on a yellow/orange filter the camera will try to correct as if it was shooting in incandescent light even though you may be shooting in daylight.
