Default Nikon Lens

I have a Nikon D300 with a AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105 F/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens.What would you suggest as a second lens?

What do you want to shoot that you can't already?

If you wanted to shoot portraits, you'd need a different lens than if you wanted to shoot architecture. If you wanted to shoot sports, you'd need a different lens than if you wanted to shoot close-ups. The 18-105 you have isn't a bad lens, but it won't do any of those things.
