Default Problem Taking HD Movies w/ SX200

When I try to shoot HD movies (1280 X 720), I can record for only about 10 seconds or so before the camera gives me a "busy" message. I'm using an 8 gb memory card, so I know the capacity of the card is not the problem.

When I switch to standard mode and shoot either 640 x 480 or 320 X240, I don't have this problem.

Why can't I shoot longer clips with HD?

And when I shoot HD movies, should I still select standard mode?

thanks!

What class card is it? I understand from other discussions, that this could be caused by the card not accepting data fast enough. In the lower res modes, there is less data per sec, and it is keeping up. Someone with more experience may be able to give you better advice.

VTphotog is correct, you need at least a class 6 speed card to record smooth HD video
