Default Circular polarizer filter for the beach

Do I need one to shoot family photos on the beach? I have a T1i.

a cpl will cut your light about 2 stops, so you can shoot a wider aperture. But it will also reduce the reflection is set properly. But one of the biggest thing it does is really bring out the blue in the ski if you shot perpendicular to the sun on with a nice blue ski.

A circular Polarizer can cause vignetting at short focal lengths/wide angles of view.

You don't need one, and you may not want one.
