Default Which camera? .... again =\

I will keep it simple, I need to narrow down my digital camera search, so list some cameras that would be good for me, and I will research them and go to the store.

-low shutter lag (able to take some action shoots, I guess one where you can pre-focus when the shutter is pushed half way down)
-low shot to shot time, from when you take the picture to when it is processed
-zoom, let's say 3x optical zoom (or more)
-under $450 or so...
-has a manual mode
-3-5 MP (4 is preferable)

Thank you for your help!

I would apprechiate any comments/suggestions/ideas/etc. These are the cameras I been look at:

Fujifilm's
FinePix S5000

I have used the Fuji S5000 and the Olympus C750. I would choose the 750 because I would want the option of an external flash. If you do not think you would purchase an external flash then the S5000 would be my choice. I have not used the other cameras.

Other than the fact about the flash, do you think both cameras would be good considering the features/variables I am looking for in a camera? The Fuji S5000 is about $200 cheaper than the Olympus C750 thats why I'm asking.

I must reinforce Gibson's recommendation. The c750 is a viable option IF you need to use an external flash--i believe this unit even allows full use of a TTL flash system. The s5000 has not hotshoe, therfor you can't really add one pracitcally(you 'can' use a flash bracket and use a pluse triggered flash---not practical IMO).

If an external flash is not needed, then the s5000 is a better choice due to it's higher usable ISO settings, 5fps precapture burst modes(for action), quicker autofocus and superior tonal curve/dynamic range.

Thanx very much for the helpful info, especially about the flash, and for responding. I will tell you what camera I choose.

Good luck and good shooting. What usually boils down to is how the camera feels to you. If you can, try the cameras out at one of your camera stores.

Why not the Canon A80? It's the same price and it's a 4-megapixel in comparison to the 3-megapixel with the Fuji.

Also, the lens is retractable making it easier to carry around on vacation.
