Default Low Light/ISO 3200 Mode as Burst Mode

Hi

I've been more than a little disappointed with my SX20 and A3000's very slow continuous shooting speeds. But then I tried the "Low Light" mode and "ISO 3200" mode outdoors in bright sunlight. It works, though of course they are only 2MP images and the quality is not great. My question is, especially with the A3000, is this likely to damage the camera's sensor? I found that it in bright sunlight, it took photos at anywhere from ISO 500 f/14 1/250 to ISO 1000 f/8 1/800, depending on zoom too. I didn't get any error messages or completely white screens, so should I consider this an viable option?

No. What you're doing won't hurt the camera unless you're pointing it at the Sun, and then it won't matter what mode you're in.

And if all you'll ever do is view your photos on a computer screen or television, 2MP is fine.

Thanks, it's good to know if I am desperate I can use that mode. How do you think 2MP pictures would compare with, say, a still extracted from 720p video? I have extracted a few stills before from video taken in bright sunlight, and they weren't fantastic, but not bad, considering. Which surprised me, because I thought theoretically they should be garbage when printed at 4x6.

Thanks

Jen

720p is 1MP. 2MP would be about equivalent to a still extracted from 1080p.
