Default Shutter speed & video?

I understand how aperture and shutter speed effect video, but how does shutter speed effect it if the shutter is open the whole time?

I'm not quite sure I know what you mean, but I'm guessing that you are talking about using a dSLR for video where the mirror and shutter are open. In that case the shutter isn't used for the shutter speed but rather it is all done electronically where that portion of time is used for each frame exposure without the mirror or shutter closing.

Thank you (I forgot to mention it was about dslrs, sorry).
This is what I'm referring to:
gadgetwise.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/15/tips-on-shooting-video-with-a-d-s-l-r/
note how in the tips it says 50/sec shitter speed is good. I was wondering why i would mention shutter speed.
Thanks!

It is still the speed of the shutter, whether physical or not. If you use faster shutter speeds with moving subjects then it can look more jerky than a slower one.

Thanks. It makes sense the more i think about it (with frames per second etc).
