Default sony mavica

I'm in the market for my first digital camera and while I was out browsing around I came across a Sony Mavica CD350 . It was an "out of box' special for $260 . While I was talking to the "saleskid" he seemed to want to steer me away from that particular model, explaining to me that Circuit City doesn't carry the 156MB mini CD-R/CD-RW 's anymore and he thought that form of storage was becoming obsolete. I have read the review on this website of this camera and it sounds pretty good. I guess what I'm asking here is , should I heed this kids warnings and steer clear or does he not know what he is talking about and go ahead with the purchase.I would appreciate any suggestions or any info from someone who is familiar with this camera. Thank you.

Type in www.google.com

In the search box type in

mini cdr media

Google return 100s of listings. My guess is they are not dead.
