Default Canon vs Nikon

Ok, I've narrowed it down to just two cameras now and just can't decide between the two, Canon D10 and the Nikon D100. I see the Nikon is slightly less money, but both seems to take superb photos.

Can anyone give me input as to which way you would go and why?
I don't want to resort to drawing a name out of a hat......

Thanks everyone!

The best you can do:

Go to a local shop, try them both, and then make the decision wich you like best.

Try looking at the issues raised in this thread:
http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=19287

which is basically exactly the same as what you ask here.

I said it there and I'll say it here.
What type of photography do you do? Without that info, we can't hope to give you anything but the most general advice (which people have done and I agree with. Make sure you go and check out the feel, button placement, and all that. If it doesn't feel good in your hands, you're less likely to use it. And using it is what it's all about.)

Default Yesterdays technology?

You can't go wrong with either,
at this particular juncture, Canon would seem to have the
technological edge, but maybe not for long!
As you've waited this long, you might as well
wait six weeks to see what news the PMA trade show
brings us.
There may be a new D100 or is the D70 better and cheaper?
Or, is there a new 10D waiting in the wings or perhaps
a DRebel"Pro", that's feature laden at a bargain price?
Or maybe something enticing from another brand name!
At any rate there should be some downward pressure
on the price of the models you mentioned!

You might want to wait for the Nikon D70. I am sure that you wanted me to throw a monkey wrench in the deal. Trying the camers at local shop is a great idea.

Think about the lenses you need and factor the availability into your thinking. I would want a stabilized telephoto lens for a DSLR and I think Canon is ahead in that.
