Default D5100 Lens

I know we have been over this and sum will say neither lens is good..Like Honest opinions which is the better lens..I want to make a decision and be done with it..

Which is better lens....
Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD LD Aspherical IF Macro Zoom

Or

Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would like to comment that these lenses are massively different in coverage at the wide end. You could get by with 18 as your widest lens, but no way would 55 be acceptable as your widest.

Which is better, a pickup truck, or a Mini? Different purposes require different answers. While the two lenses have similar focal length on the long end, they don't compare at all at the wide angle.
