I currently own Canon G1. I love the camera, I hate it too. I now understand what I should/should not have done when I purchased it. I want to get another camera, but need help deciding which models to look at. Here is what I need:

Point and Shoot. I am not a pro photographer and will never be one.
Relatively small, much smaller than G1, should weigh a lot less too.
Should use Compact Flash 1. I have several from my G1.
Should have rechargeable battery.
Ability to take pictures at night would be nice. Not infrared, but stuff like fireworks on the 4th of July.

Durable
Easy to carry around.

One thing I really liked about G1 was flip out and twist LCD. I would love one, but don't know if that is realistic.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ellen

Take a look at the Canon S75 & S80 models. They are small, lightweight, take the CF1 cards, use rechargable AA batteries, can operate point and shoot but have enough controls/modes to make an advanced amateur happy. They are easy to carry around -will probably fit in your purse.I got my mother an A70 (the A75 wasn't out yet) and she takes beautiful picturesusing the fully automatic mode only. She loves it because"it fits her hand". No flip and twist LCD screen but that may be hard to find on a small lightweight camera. There are, of course, smaller and even more lightweight models but the A75 / A80cameras area goodcompromisebetween smallsize and big features.
