Default Monitor vs. Flat Screen

I am upgrading my computer. What are the plus's and minus's of getting a monitor versus a flat screen? What would be the recomendations for getting a monitor as far as specs go? I have heard that there are color matcing problems with flat screens?

Default Monitor vs Flat Screen

Monitors are cheaper than flat screen as I am sure you know. If you computer area is cramp for space then a flat screen may be what you need. Flat screens need to be calibrated to your video card. You can buy a 21" Sony CPD-E540 for under $600 which includes shipping. A 17" for about the same price. The flat screen is easier on the eyes than a crt monitor. My personal preference is the 21" Sony monitor.

The calibration of the flat screen to video card software comes with the flat screen.

Default Go normal monitor!!

1)they are cheaper
2)when you play games or do video editing, fast motion looks greasy on TFT-monitors
3)there can also be hot/dead Pixel on it
