I'm some what of a newbie when it comes to digital camera's. Have have done a lot of reading on all these camera and they all seem to give me different qualities that I like. I plan on taking some camera classes and I want something that will give me both the easy features (so my wife can use it) and more advanced featutes so as I become more knowledgable I wont have to buy another camera. If you had the choice between these 3 camera which would you buy. Minolta Z2---Fuji S5000---Canon S1 IS. Thanks for everyone's help

I would get the S1. I have a FZ10 and have really come to appreciate stabilization. You can shoot in a lot more situations without a tripod. The Minolta would allow larger prints with 4Mp, but the combination of f3.8 at full zoom and no stabilization is a drawback. The Fuji compression is too extreme. It shares the Z2s lack of stabilization and the pictures aren't as nice IMO.

Added later, I've since found out that this is something called a "film" camera (whatever that is).

I saw it on the Minolta web page. After looking around a bit I dontthink they have released it yet however they do have info reguarding it. What would your choice be between the 3 camera's?

Hi Yachtman 77

Been looking to buy a new camera and was looking into the 3 you short listed, but after some research, I am going to buy a Kyocera M410R. Take a look at one of these, you won't be disapointed. :-)

Regards

Steve

Hey thanks for the info it seem that the kyocera has a lot of great features. But I placed my order for the Z2 today. However I got a 90 day no questions asked return policy so if I dont care for it I'll try something else. Thanks

Hows the weather, I just came from England in 2002
