This might be a dumb question but I will ask any way.

When the dimension of a picture is given (i.e. 4x6, 5x7x 8x10, 11x14, etc..), does that correspond to frame size and not actually the photo size. I only ask because I just recently got some pictures developed from my Canon DRebel and I measured the picture and thedimensionswere 3.625"x5.625" and I noticedasmall amount of cropping had occurred from the digital picture.I got the pictures developed from Walgreen's Digital Lab. When I resized and cropped the original picture, I kept the 1.5 ratio.

Are the any guidelines to resizing digital pictures for this not the occur and should you keep in mind the size 3.625"x5.625" if that is in fact that correct dimensions? These dimension correspond to a 1.55ratio.

When I resize my photos I just choose the new width and make sure that the constrain proportions is checked, keeping the proportion the same. I have noticed that when I crop in Photoshop to 4"x6" the lab sometimes wont print them because it only prints the originally proportioned images.

As for you, If you are going to keep using the same lab, I would find out what proportion is best printed and always use that.
