(Just thought I'd split my questions into 2 posts so it'd be easier on the eye!)

I've not bought my camera yet, but have narrowed it down to either the Canon Rebel or the Nikon D70. I'm leaning more towards the Nikon.

These questions relate to Nikon lenses:

1. Are DX lenses the ones that have been developed specifically for digital cameras? If so, does the 1.5x focal length factor not apply to them?

2. I've seen the word 'prime' used by people who were discussing Nikon lenses. What does 'prime' mean?

3. I've seen all of the following suffixes on adverts for Nikon lenses, and hoped someone might be kind *and patient!* enough to tell me what they mean:

D

DX...or DX AFS

PC

DC

AFS

TR

AFF II

G

ED

VR

Many thanks!
