Many cameras claim switchiable video output format, (inlcuding myOly 510Z) and prospective P100, but there is nothing in the manul how to switch it.I assume it can be changed by the user, so when I go toEurope, I can view the photos on a TV. But may be it means that these cameras come in two versions - for the US and Europe?

Thanks

In Steve's review, on the Features and Controls page, it says this for the Oly D-510 Zoom camera: Video output, video is NTSC format only

In your case, if you've read you can use PAL or NTSC, then I guess Oly would have been refering to an American model and a European model. You can buy camera's that will display either way though. My current camera has this an on option in one of my menu's

My D7i is swicthable NTSC/PAL in the menu, and it's clearly mentionned in the printedmanual as well.

(I don't know about Europ, but in Asia, most ofrecent TV setsare multi standard anyway)

I did find an option on P100 to select either PAL or NTSC. Thanks,

Dmitri

Didn't occur to me to checkwhen I bought my Olympus C-8080 but I am relieved to find that it also is NTSC/PAL menu switchable. That sure makes it more travel friendly.
