What is the best way to clean my camera lens from dust, fingerprints, etc.?

One of my friends is a photographer and he just uses his breath and shirt sleeve. I thought that alcohol and a qtip or something like that would be good.

Please advise.

NEVER alcohol (one person used something and it fogged up the lens permanently).

Go to a GOOD camera store and buy a lens cleaning kit, or even the lens cleaning cloths.

When using these things, make sure that if you use them more than once that nothing is embedded in the cloth...the smallest amount of grit can scratch the lens.

Thanks. I suspected alcohol was the wrong way to go because I know from telescopes it's a bad idea.

Basically just a good dust-free cloth, like casmere? (spelling?)
