Pardon my ignorance. I'm just getting into photography and am learing as I go. I just bought a Canon Powershot Pro 70 from a friend. According to Steve's site, I'm probably better off using a Canon 220EX ro 380EX flash with this camera, which are very hard to come by these days. Am I really limited to these 2 flashes? If not, what options do I have?

Thank You

May be Sigma have compatible dedicated ttl flash for Canon , but I don't know .

You can also use third party non dedicated flash , in manual or auto mode, but your camera doesn't have manual exposure control, just aperture priority, so it,s not the ideal solution.

( Also be aware of certain old or cheap flash with high trigger voltage, check here or mesure it before mounting a flash on your camera: http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html)

If you are learning, I guess it,s better having a Canon (or third paty dedicated) flash since photo is a pleasure first, not mathematical caculation and ajustments, and .... etc.
