Default combined digicam and webcam?

Hi all, I'm new and confused. Are there cameras that can be used both as a regular digicam and as a live webcam for the computer?

Can someone point me to some good articles that explains what a newbie needs to know in this world of digicams? I didn't see any on this site.

Currently if you want quality images- No

webcams deliver low band video at low to medium frame rates with high compression.

digicams try to deliver the opposite. high quality high band printable images

Thanks guys. The new 3800 looks interesting. I'm the kind of newbie that likes to buy a little more than I need right now, to have something to grow in. Obviously the 3800 is enough for vacation pictures, but can I use it to shoot some insects and such too? Or do I need even more zoom for that?

What can I NOT do with the 3800?

As for the webcam use, I'm trying to find out the number of frames/second. It should be more than 10 which is the fps when recording short clips to the camera...

Thanks.
