Minolta supplied a NP-200 lithium-ion battery with my Dimage Xg camera. When I purchased a back-up battery froma reliable source whichadvertised a Digicom battery as "original Minolta NP-200 Replacement Battery" it did not fit my Xg. The corners of the battery appeared to be too square. Has anyone else had this experience?

I haven't seen anyone report this with the Xg before though (although I may have missed the posts on it).

I have seen users report this problem with other cameras (the physical size of some generic batteries is a little too large).

Most of the time, users can get them to fit (although tighter than the factory batteries). I've also seen some users report filing the batteries down a little bit.

But, do these things at your own risk (as forcing a battery in could cause damage, as could trying to file the battery case).

I'd complain to the vendor and see if they've got one that fits properly.
