Default Help! 2 dumb questions!!!!!

 Hi everyone! A newbie here! I just ordered a Fuji 3800 and I am sooooo excited! I need a little help though. What other supplies do I need to go with it? It comes with a bag, 32 mb xd card, and a rapid recharger and 4 batteries.

ops: Also, I hope that I don't sound too stupid, but could someone tell me the least and most amount of pix that I can get on a 32mb, 64mb and 128mb card? I'm spending 8 days at DisneyWorld and would like to know how many cards I need to buy to last the whole trip.

thanks, Tina

Rough estimate of shots per 32 meg card would be 40 to 45 at HQ JPG. At the lowest resolution 130 to 150 shots. I would always take pics at the highest JPG resolution. The great thing about a digital is that you can review your pics and delete the bad ones.

Extras could be a 64 or 128 media card, another set of rechargeable batteries (1800 mah), set of aa batteries. I always take my laptop with me to download pics (not for everyone). You may take alot of pics in 8 days and if you have the laptop it would be nice to have a place to download pics.

Have fun at DisneyWorld and enjoy your camera.

The price for the 128 mb card goes for about $100. I would purchase one 128 card to go with the 32. That is 160 photos. The major difference from when I shot with a 35mm camera and now a digital is that I can see what I am shooting. I do not have to take multiple shots to make sure I a good pic. I can take multiple shots with the digital then delete all but the one I want to keep. 160 digital shots could be 300 35mm camera shots.

The new Fuji 3800 uses xD-Picture cards not SmartMedia.

What resolution you shoot depends on your printing needs. If all you plan on printing is 4x6" then the 2M (1600x1200) setting is a good choice as you can still get up to a 8x10" print from these if needed.

Fuji 3800 xD-Picture Card capacities:

128mb card = 997 0.3M, 398 1M, 319 2M, 215 3M-N, 102 3M-F

32mb card = 247 0.3M, 99 1M, 79 2M, 53 3M-N, 25 3M-F

Keep in mind that these are approximate numbers, you
are capturing JPEG images and the actual file size is
dependant on the scene and the JPEG compression.

It would also be wise to buy a second set of NiMH AA
batteries or at least a set or two of Energizer or Duracell
alkalines just in case your primary batteries go dead.
