I love my Coolpix 995. It takes amazing outdoor photos or photos in quite bright light. However, anything taken inside prints off with a redish, dark tint. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Sara

I am making a guess here, but possibly your cameras white balance is set to daylight? Indoor tungsten lights are much lower (redder) in color temperature.

Try adjusting your camera to either auto-white balance or manually set it to tungsten.

I agree: very likely you have the white balance set wrong. You should get an EXIF reader so you can see what the settings (mode, f/stop, shutter speed, white balance, contrast, ...) were for each picture. That is a great help in figuring out how to use your camera.

Thank you both for your help. Hopfully I will be able to sort it out and start taking great indoor photos.

Thanks,
