Default 1st Dig. Camera

Hello, I am looking to buy a digital camera. I am looking for at least 3mp and 3x optical zoom. I basically want a good camera at a good price. Is there a camera out there that has good features, but nothing wasteful(in my opinion), like the short movie feature? AND Do features like that drive up the price?

Thanks in advance. -Steve

Steve

I would recommend the Olympus d550. You can purchase it on the web for less than $300. It is 3 mp, with a 2.8 optical zoom, all glass optics. It uses smartmedia and is a compact camera that provides an excellent auto focus system or you can choose manual controls. Look for vendor ratings and prices at www.dealtime.com.

Default Thanks...

For the suggestion! Any thoughts on Sony?

I checked out the specs of the 550, looks good.

Thanks again,

Steve

You should get great pics with the Sony. It is a bit bulky for my taste.
