im new in this digital camera field, so i need your help to buy a 3 megapixel camera with good macro function.

Is it the Canon - PowerShot S230 a good choice ?

The Oly C4000 has a macro and a super macro mode. Price is around $400 on the web. Check www.dealtime.com for pricing and vendor rating.

I took this with a fuji 3800 ......

Just read today that i should have stood back a few steps and used the zoom rather than get within 5cm like id did ... oh well ... still learning :oops:

PICS HAVE BEEN REDUCED ON MICROSOFT PHOTO-EDITOR SO THERE IS A LOT MORE "BLUR" THAN THE ORIGINAL LARGE 3mp IMAGE.

I played with the manual settigns here to try and reduce the exposure a little. First time i have used a manual camera so i am a bit of a hack right now.

The Nikon digital cameras all well known for excellent macro capability. Take a look at the Nikon Coolpix 3500. Read the detailed review on this site:

(the Sample Pages has a nice macro shot example)

and see if you like it. It doesn't have an optical viewfinder so it does take some getting used to.
