NHL and anyone else!

Where do you get this adapter & travel pack if you didn't get one in the first place? I assume I could get one through IBM, but I bet that costs more than I'd like. I fear I'll be needing one soon..... (i.e. someone wants to sell me a 512MB microdrive along with a camera and the inventory list he gave me didn't include anything which sounded like the adapter or travel pack.)

Eric s

It's hard to find, but some RadioShack still carry the older adapter Cat. No: 25-936 (they also have newer ones with solid back that wouldn't work). It also come with a carrying case...

enter the new olympus 5050: you can plug it in via usb to any pc (and probably mac) WITHOUT any software; it reads as an external drive.
So, all I have to carry with me is my camera, a usb cord, and a battery charger. How liberating from my sony mavica days, when a pound and a half of floppies weighed me down in every trip

Your right geof.Works the same way on a Mac,except I have mine set up so when I plug in the 5050 it automaticly launches iPhoto and all I have to do is hit import and it down loads right into iPhoto for me.

Except for the speed... The PCMCIA card adapter's transfer speed is several magnitude faster (you'll need it for the 1G @ the USB1.0 rate of the camera). The PC-card adapter access CF cards like a true hardisk (as they are specs and designed to be) and is even faster than firewire/USB2.0!

BTW no usb cord, and a battery charger required!
